This section provides a brief overview of the projects that Avataq’s departments and programmes have undertaken so far, as well as a sampling of our many archaeological, historical and museal collections. Remember, however, that what you see here represents only a small portion of what Avataq has amassed since its creation in 1985.

Activities include the construction of qarmaqs (earthen huts), sealskin tents, traditional umiaqs (sealskin boats) and kayaks; language workshops; and making bannock, kamik, puurtaq and avataq.
