Election for Board Members and President of Avataq

NOTICE OF ELECTION
This is a notice for the nominations and election for the Position of the PRESIDENT and BOARD OF DIRECTORS for Avataq Cultural Institute. The nominations will open on August 13 and end August 27th at 5:00pm. The Election will will be on September 26th during the Elders Conference. This Conference will take place in Kangiqsujuaq from September 23-27, 2024.
Candidates for these positions must be 18 years of age and over and be a beneficiary of the JBNQA. The nominee shall have no criminal record punishable by 5 years or more imprisonment.
Place: Kangiqsujuaq
Date of Election: September 26th, 2024
Positions to be elected:
1 position for President
6 positions for Directors
Signed nomination forms could be faxed or mailed to Avataq office in Inukjuak no later than the August 27th, 2024, 5:00 pm.
Elected Board of Directors will serve a 2 year term, as governed by the Avataq bylaws. Nomination forms are available at the Local Municipal office and Landholding. office For further information, please contact:
